Key words: SNPTC, nuclear equipment and material appraisal center

On February 15, State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation’s (SNPTC) “nuclear equipment and material appraisal center” was inaugurated at Shanghai Power Equipment Research Institute (SPERI). Chairman of SNPTC, Mr. Wang Binghua, and President of SPERI, Mr. Yan Hongqiang, attended the unveiling ceremony.

The appraisal of gen 3 nuclear equipment and material was not quite comprehensive and standardized before. Hence, from October 27, 2011, SNPTC authorized SPERI to prepare to establish the appraisal center. The unveiling of the center is significant in localizing China’s third generation nuclear power.
