WINDHOEK, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Namibian Minister of Trade and Industry Immanuel Ngatjizeko has said that the cooperation between Namibia and China in mining would be advantageous to both countries as it would supplement and expand the current trade balance which is still very low.

Chinese investment in Namibia's mining industry "would create many jobs in Namibia and contribute to social stability and economic growth," said the minister in a written interview with Xinhua, "In addition, Chinese investors would derive high profits from such investments, and access resources essential for fueling the Chinese economic growth."

He said Namibia would like to gain Chinese expertise, capital and technology to transform its natural resources such as uranium, copper, gold and diamonds into value-added products.
