Huaneng Group of China and German carbon company SGL finalized their negotiations on raw material cooperation in Shandong nuclear power station recently. Under a contract both sides signed, SGL will supply Huaneng with 500 thousand machined graphite spheres for the first nuclear reactor of Huaneng in the Shandong, called Shidaowan high temperature gas cooled reactor. It is expected that the SGL will finish the contact by supply all the 500 thousand machined graphite spheres by the end of 2013.

Marketing development director Burkhard Straube of SGL said China has potential in energy development. Huaneng Shidaowan Nuclear Power Company Ltd (HSNPC) is actively promoting the fourth generation nuclear technology, highlighting great attention HSNPC attached to nuclear safety and innovation and SGL will do its best to provide best quality product and service to the Shidaowan demonstration project.
