China gained the biggest procurement contract for international thermonuclear experimental reactor

Plasma physics institute of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science signed a contract with international thermonuclear experimental reactor center to construct a converter power supply system.

International thermonuclear experimental reactor (ITER) aims to build the world’s first controlled thermonuclear fusion experimental reactor. The fabrication for ITER equipments began in 2007, and the construction cycle is 10 years. As one of the seven members of ITER, China undertook 12 procurement manufacturing tasks which accounted for 10% of the total tasks.
