From May 5th to 7th, Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) senior vice president, Richard Purcell and representatives of American nuclear power plants owners visited Sanmen nuclear power plant which is under construction in Zhejiang province.

The purpose of this visit is to hold communication on the construction of Sanmen nuclear power plant which is going to be the first AP1000 nuclear power plant.

Representatives of Sanmen nuclear power-related offices, Site Project Management Office, China Nuclear Engineering Fifth Company, China Nuclear 22nd Company, Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Company, Hunan Taohuajiang Nuclear Power Company and China Nuclear Power Engineering Company attended the meeting.

The United States delegation introduced the preparation of AP1000 power plant construction in the United States. Sanmen Nuclear Power Company introduced the engineering progress, project management and organization structure of Sanmen nuclear power plant. Both sides also talked about the certification, module construction and design in AP1000 power plant construction.
