China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) and Kazatomprom signed a memorandum in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, with presence of Chinese president Hu Jingtao and Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev. 
Kazatomprom is the biggest uranium resource developer in Kazakhstan. CGNPC and Kazatomprom have been in cooperation in uranium exploration in recent years, especially in the establishment of joint venture of Semizbai-U LLP. The new memorandum will see both sides deepen cooperation in nuclear power development.
