Kazakomprom, Kazakhstan, stated-owned nuclear power corporation, plans to obtain license in December 2010 to export uranium fuel particles to China. This news is disclosed by Yuri Rushing, the director of uranium fuel laboratory in "Ur Kempinski metallurgical factory" stock company’ Central Research Laboratory.
Rushing said in Almaty on Tuesday, it would be produced uranium fuel particles for first test in November, and sent to China for approval procedures. He pointed out that, “the test results will come out most quickly in December”.
He also said that Kazakhstan's Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation would export uranium fuel particles after the completion of approval procedures. The expected uranium export volume in the first year is 2 tons. The annual export volume would reach 200 to 400 tons by 2020.
