Kazakhstan has the world’s second largest uranium reserve. It is estimated that the country’s uranium output will become the largest around the world. Semizbai-U, a Sino-Kazakh joint-venture, is owned by the KazAtomProm National Nuclear Company of Kazakhstan and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company. It is also one of the most important uranium enterprises in Kazakhstan. According to the agreement, all the products of Semizbai-U will be supplied to Chinese NPPs.
