On November 14, EDF’s Senior Executive Vice President, Mr. Herve Machenaud, said at the International Consultative Conference in Guangdong Province, that they will strengthen ties with Chinese nuclear power companies and facilitate China’s nuclear industry international stance.

According to Mr. Herve Machenaud, their next goal is to boost China’s nuclear power industry to become international through their cooperation with various Chinese companies. Their cooperation with Guangdong province will also accelerate the process of going international.

Currently, Guangdong has 6 nuclear power plants under construction or in operation: Daya Bay and Taishan, etc. EDF has been cooperating with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC), China’s largest nuclear power corporation for a period of time.

In his opinion, to reach the goal of going international, the most important thing currently is to synchronize the nuclear energy’s standards regarding quality and safety with the world standard. The collaborations between Chinese nuclear power companies and foreign companies will speed up such synchronization.
